The brief was about the interconnectivity that the digital world provides, in a utopian sense, with a focus on human contact - a reflection on the way that we are, now, inescapably interdependent.
I tried to find parallels in nature and the obvious example was mycorrhizae and generally fungi and the way they connect flora. However, I decided to look locally in the Scottish nature and found the very un-hyped and understudied Scottish bog which is very significant to the local ecosystems.
I took pictures of layers of it, made a collage and then drew it. In the end I threw on some intense green and blue to reflect the sweaty nightclub vibes of the tracks and as a celebration of dance music's possibilities in discussion with its innumerable pasts.
